Most identity specialists will agree, I
believe, that the process shown here is universal.
To be fully effective, whether consultants or designers,
we must all respect the logic of the same necessary
steps and sequence. What differentiates us is what goes
on inside the boxes. For consultants, it's primarily
what we bring to the Identity Plan box in terms of our
education, experience, insights and learning/planning
skills — and then, the
ability to nurture our creative output through to
successful launch. For designers, it's specialized
knowledge and a particular brilliance brought to the
Logo Design box, plus the ability to manage systemically
the subsequent application and implementation boxes.
