work done pro bono (usually at significantly reduced rates. Pro
bono means "for good;" it should not mean "for free.")
The best lawyers and doctors donate service
to good causes, or charge pro bono rates of half or less. So do the best identity consultants and
designers -
the big firms, as well as one-person offices. Their
gifts of brand (or rebrand) can add make-or-break clarity,
impact and appeal to their client's cause. But too often,
the value of their contribution seems under-recognized.
We'll try to change that here.
